While carmakers in India are grappling with falling sales, Porsche expects to sell out its most expensive model ever. The Stuttgart-based sports car maker strongly believes it will sell all the units of the 918 Spyder Hybrid latest by December, 2014. For those who didn't know already, Porsche limited the production of the 918 Spyder Hybrid model to only 918 units in a bid to emphasise on the car's exclusivity.
The prices for this baby starts at 768,026 euros and can go all the way up to 947,716 euros in Germany. Interestingly, the German carmaker's 'operating profit' fell this year as it continued to invest in the expansion of its plants in Leipzig and Zuffenhausen and on fuel-efficient technology.
This feat will obviously boost Porsche's earnings, which is of paramount importance to its owner Volkswagen AG's plans for global expansion and for dethroning its Japanese rival - Toyota. Porsche's forecast of a growth in sales to over 200,000 units as compared to 2013's 162,000 units also includes the numbers for its new Macan compact SUV.
