Hyundai's Upcoming Cars in India

The country's second largest automaker,Hyundai India, that launched the new Elite i20 and Hyundai Xcent in 2014, will launch 5-6 new and facelifted products by 2016. Along with updating its existing line-up, the company will also enter some fresh segments including hatchback crossover and compact SUV.
Here's the list of the cars that Hyundai will launch in the next 12-18 months.
Hyundai i20 Crossover:After the successful launch of the new i20 in India, Hyundai is planning to bring in the crossover version of the hatchback - the i20 Crossover. This will be the first ever crossover from the Korean carmaker in India. In fact, the company has already started testing the vehicle in India.
Sharing the platform and features with the i20, the new crossover is also likely to get the same engine options  1.2-litre Kappa2 petrol and 1.4-litre CRDi diesel. To give it a crossover-like stance, the company will offer bigger alloys, additional body cladding all over the body and few other changes at the front and rear profile. The crossover will also get a more feature-rich cabin.

Hyundai ix25 Compact SUV:First showcased as a concept at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, the Hyundai ix25 is surely one of the most-anticipated SUVs in India. Hyundai recently unveiled its production version at the 2014 Guangzhou Auto Show, which look largely similar to the concept.
Based on Hyundai's popular 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design philosophy, the ix25 shares its design cues with the Santa Fe. The SUV measures 4270mm in length, 1780mm in width and 1630mm in height with a wheelbase of 2590mm. The Indian-spec model of the ix25 might be equipped with a 1.4-litre VTVT and a 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine, which also power the Hyundai Verna.

Hyundai Verna facelift:Ever since its launch, the Verna has always been among Hyundai's top-selling cars. The car was, in fact, leading the mid-sized sedan segment until the launch of new-gen Honda City. Now that Verna has one more strong rival in the form of Ciaz, it has become more of a necessity for Hyundai to bring in the updated model of the car. The Korean carmaker launched the updated model of the car in the Russian market, we all are waiting for its Indian arrival. Just like its Russian counterpart, the Indian model will also feature the Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy.
The cabin is likely to remain largely unchanged, expect for some new features. The updated sedan will continue to be offered in two petrol (1.4-litre & 1.6-litre) and two diesel (1.4-litre & 1.6-litre) engines.

New Hyundai Sonata:Unveiled at the 2014 New York Auto Show, the new Hyundai Sonata features some significant exterior and interior tweaks. Based on Hyundai's evolved 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design philosophy, the 2015 Sonata will be slightly longer and wider than the existing version. The front fascia of the SUV is revised with a Genesis concept-inspired hexagonal grille, new headlamps and bumper. The re-designed tail lamps, trunk lid, alloy-wheel designs and new colour options add more to its sporty appearance.
Features like a larger centre console, fully-digital instrument cluster with a configurable TFT screen mounted between the gauges and more conveniently placed switchgear make its cabin lot more up-market. The new Sonata will be offered in two engine options - a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder and 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine.

Expected Price - Rs. 19 lakh - Rs. 21 lakh
New Hyundai Elantra:Hyundai's premium saloon, Elantra, will also get an upgrade, and will be launched in 2016. The updated model is expected to be based on the company's latest design philosophy, though no information about this hasn't been revealed yet. If reports are to be believed, the front fascia of the sedan might take its inspiration from the Genesis concept, featuring a hexagonal chrome grille, leaner head-lamps with daytime running lights and LED tail-lights.

Expected Price - Rs. 13 lakh - Rs. 17 lakh
