First launched in 2012, Google's great online shopping festival (GOSF) is growing bigger as more merchants join hands with it every year. In its first year, it had a total of 90 merchants and the number has grown to 450 this year.
This time around, several carmakers also participated in the festival and are offering some really lucrative deals on their cars. One such deal is Skoda's 'Buy in 2014 and Pay in 2016' offer on its top-selling model - the Rapid. Under the offer, interested people can buy a Skoda Rapid by paying a down payment of Rs. 1.87 lakh and an additional Re. 1 for the year 2015. Then from 2016, buyers will be asked to pay Rs. 17,563 as EMI. This is certainly an attractive offer for people who have been putting off buying a new car because of the instant onslaught of EMIs that comes with the purchase.
This will give potential customers enough time to plan their finances. The company will also offer free Garmin's portable navigation system with reverse camera to the first 50 buyers of the Rapid under the scheme. The car on offer is the updated Skoda Rapid that the company launched earlier this year. The updated Rapid was launched with a new 1.5-litre diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 104bhp and 250Nm of peak torque.
Other than the new engine, Skoda also brought in the new 7-speed DSG gearbox on the car.
