Renault India has announced that they will increase the prices of all its vehicles in India. Rising input costs for the company has been attributed as the cause of the price rise.
With effect from January 1, 2015, Renault vehicles will be dearer by 2.5 percent. Commenting on the price hike announcement, Rafael Treguer, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Renault India said, "So far we have absorbed the rising input costs, but a sustained challenging market environment has compelled us to increase our prices.
The industry is eagerly looking forward to pro-business policies to reignite the automobile industry in India." Renault is not the first manufacturer to announce the price hike as many other manufacturers like BMW, Maruti, Hyundai have already announced a price hike for their products.
