The used car market in India is witnessing a lot of growth and automakers seem to be showing considerable interest by expanding their network with an aim to provide better services. Mercedes seems to have joined in with a new name for its pre-owned car business in India, called Mercedes-Benz Certified.
The company showed its renewed confidence in the business by inaugurating twelve new outlets spread across India in a single day. Mercedes’ new destination for pre-owned car buyers aims to provide an experience equivalent to a new car purchase by offering better facilities, infrastructure, tailor-made financing options, warranty and service packages.
“We are delighted at launching this new brand which is designed specifically for the Indian market”, said Eberhard Kern, managing director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
The company has come up with new warranty offerings, a new website, a sales software for iPad and over a hundred specially trained consultants. The customers can opt for finance options from Daimler Financial Services. The Mercedes-Benz Certified cars are said to go through a selection process based on quality checks conforming with stringent global standards.
The specifications require that the car be less than five years old, with mileage below 100,000 kilometres, free of any accident history and should not have more than two previous owners. The car will then be processed for sale to customers under a manufacturer backed warranty of one year or 20,000km. As expected, non Mercedes-Benz cars will be sold without warranty.
