BMW India that recently launched the new M5, today rolled out the new M3 sedan and M4 Coupe in India. The M3 and M4 Coupe are priced at Rs. 1.19 crore (ex-showroom) and Rs. 1.21 crore (ex-showroom), respectively.
Both the vehicles are powered by a new 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, twin-turbocharged petrol engine that produces a power of 431bhp at 5500-7300rpm with a maximum torque of 550Nm between 1850-5500rpm. This gasoline powertrain accelerates 0-100kmh in 5 seconds, while maintaining an electronic speed limit of 250kmph. A six-speed manual gearbox and a seven-speed automatic transmission are on offer. The new M3 sedan is lighter and more agile than its predecessor, thanks to its high-tensile materials and carbon-fibre components. Shedding the extra flab, both the cars are now tuned to consume 25% less fuel.
Based on the M3 Coupe platform, the new M4 comes equipped with 18-inches alloy wheels, while the 19-inches alloys are optional. The coupe also gets a carbon fiber roof and a 60:40 split rear seats. Both the cars will be brought via CBU (Complete Built Units) route in India.
Earlier this week, the company had launched an updated version of its M5 sedan in India, priced at Rs 1.35 crore (ex -showroom Delhi). Taking a further step in sustainable mobility, BMW India also plans to introduce hybrid car i8 in 2014.
