When Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Black Widow in the upcoming Marvel flick, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, she’ll be rolling in a black-on-black Corvette Stingray personalized for the character. Unveiled today at the 2014 Chicago auto show, Chevrolet didn’t elaborate on any possible performance or crime-fighting modifications for the car, but we’d be stunned if the Black Widow’s Vette didn’t have at least a few bits of movie magic in store.
It’s not the first time a car company has paired up with Hollywood for cross-promotion. GM so completely populated the rolling stock of the Transformers franchise, the finished pictures border on propaganda. Both the car and the star look great in basic black, but Chevrolet hasn’t said if a tie-in retail version will be made available for those of us lacking in the superpower department. Of course it shouldn’t be too hard to approximate the look via the Corvette’s option sheet. Either way, we’ll get a better look at both when the movie hits theaters this April.
