Honda Car India's latest offering Mobilio MPV received overwhelming response from the buyers ever since its launch in the country in July. It has been raking in awesome sales numbers for the company every month but in October, the sales for Mobilio hit an all-time low as only 2985 units of the MPV were sold and it slipped to the 8th spot in the sales of UVs in the month of October as compared to its fifth slot in September.
The model-wise sales data revealed by the Society of Indian Automobiles Manufacturers (SIAM) also tells that Mahindra Bolero retained its numero-uno spot in top-selling UVs in India. Honda Mobilio was on 5th spot in the top-selling UV's marquee in the month of September as 5,329 units of the MPV were sold against its arch rivals Toyota Innova and Maruti Ertiga who grabbed the third and fourth position in the list with 5,876 and 5,672 units, respectively. Mahindra Bolero retained its crown of being country's largest selling UV as 9,090 units of this compact SUV were sold in the month of October.
Mahindra's another SUV - The Scorpio - lost the second spot in a close battle to the Toyota Innova as it moved a spot higher than its previous month position. Among the top 10 selling UVs four recorded growth in October over the previous month while six of them saw decline. The over all UV sales recorded a decline of 9 per cent at 48465 units in October compared to 53003 units in the previous month. Ford's EcoSport too moved a spot higher as it occupied the fifth position in the list as compared to pervious month's 6th slot. Renault Duster and Mahindra XUV too moved to sixth and seventh place, respectively as compared to their September's position.
Honda Mobilio slipped to the 8th position while Nissan Terrano and Toyota Fortuner maintained their 9th and 10th spot in the list, respectively.
