Suzuki S-Cross SX4 debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and is expected to arrive in India towards the end of 2014 or early 2015. Basically the crossover version of the European SX4, the SX4 S-Cross is pretty much as spacious as the Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano. It will be offered with both, petrol and diesel engines.
According to reports the India-spec model is likely to house 1.4 litre petrol engine and Fiat sourced 1.3 litre, Multijet diesel engine. A larger displacement 1.6 litre, diesel engine could also be included in the range, however there is yet n clarity on that. The 1.6 litre engine is nothing but a much powerful version of 1.3 litre diesel motor. Likely to be tagged between Rs 12 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, Maruti SX4-S-Cross will face-off with rivals like Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and Mahindra XUV 500 in its segment. Known largely for offering affordable hatchbacks, vehicles like S-Cross and recently launched Ciaz will help car maker come out of its niche position in domestic market.
The company had earlier mentioned that it will be launching new products for Indian customers in coming time, hence we get to see more of new vehicles rolling out from MSI stable.
