The system recognizes the lane in which the car is traveling. When the driver unintentionally drifts out of the travelling lane, the system alerts the driver with a visual warning on the display and an audible signal.

Using cameras installed in the front or rear of the vehicle, the system recognizes the roadway lane markers. It analyzes the location of the lane markers in the driving lane, the direction of travel and the driver’s operation of the vehicle, and when it judges a driving lane change to be unintentional, it warns the driver. When a driver switches on the turn signal and intentionally changes lanes, the Lane Departure Warning system does not activate.
