Fiat 500 Abarth 2014 expected to launch in India by JUL 2015

Unarguably, one of the most anticipated debuts that we look forward to this year, is the launch of Fiat’s performance division brand, Abarth. The first model that is scheduled to launch with the Abarth tag in India is the iconic, Fiat 500. With an expected price tag between Rs 22 lakh and Rs 24 lakh, the all-new Fiat 500 Abarth is prepping to hit the streets during the festive season, i.e October or November 2014.

Essentially, the Fiat 500 Abarth is the highly tuned and sportier version of the regular Fiat 500 and was recently, previewed at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show. The performance oriented Fiat 500 Abarth will come powered by a 1.4-litre, turbocharged petrol engine that has been tuned to either produce 137PS of max power or 163PS, depending upon the variant.

The hot hatch stands on a set of sporty 17-inch alloy wheels, giving the car an incredibly well planted look. Other notable features that the Fiat 500 Abarth is expected to flaunt are ABS, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Hydraulic Brake Assistance (HBA), parking sensors, fog lights, premium music system and an assortment of customisable options for racing stripes, decals, wheels and interior trims.

On the inside, the Fiat 500 Abarth features the same retro design and layout that was seen in the Fiat 500, which had become quite a hit back in 2008 among Fiat enthusiasts world over. However, staying true to its Abarth tag, the upcoming model features sportier seats, a sporty leather wrapped steering wheel and an assortment of Abarth badges that replaces the Fiat badges everywhere on the car.
