BMW X4 expected launch in India by NOV 2014

The highly awaited, all-new model - the BMW X4 was finally revealed online via a set of detailed images earlier in 2014 and then, a month later the model got to take its first public bow at the 2014 New York Motor Show. The new BMW X4 is essentially the coupe version of the X3 SUV and is being termed as a SAV or Sports Activity Vehicle - as BMW likes to call it. The model follows the footsteps of its bigger brother BMW X6 and has officially laid the foundation for BMW for a whole new niche segment.

The BMW X4 rides on the same platform as the X3 and measures 14mm longer and 36mm lower to the ground than the X3. At the front, the X4 features larger air intakes and new fog lamps. The headlamps and the fog lamps can be had in either conventional build and projector set up or in a full LEDs. At the back, the X4 features taillights and the C-pillar that have been taken from the new 4-Series Gran Coupe. The most notable feature on the X4 however, is its coupe-like roofline, which runs from the front seats and down to the tail lamps.

Inside, the X4 features all the standard controls and switchgear that one would expect to see in a BMW. The centre console has been finished in high-gloss black and aluminium trim strips, while the cabin follows the two-tone interior looks. The centre console sports standard BMW features such as the infotainment system, audio controls, the large LCD screen and climate control.
