BMW i8 Expected to Launch on December 2014

BMW i8 Supercar is a feature packed hybrid car. It brings excellent design features and looks like an engineering marvel. It is beautifully sculpted and truly looks like a supercar. It is made of carbon fibre, it is quite light in weight and BMW claims that it drives like a supercar. BMW has spent considerable man hours fine tuning the final production version which was finally unveiled in the Frankfurt Motor show held recently. It brings a powerful three cylinder 1.5 liter petrol engine which makes 231 Bhp of power and has 320 Nm of twisting force to provide excellent acceleration. But it doesn't end there as the electric motor that provides additional drive to the wheels produces 131 Bhp of power and 250 Nm of Torque. The petrol engine is rear mounted while the electric engine is front mounted on this super car.
BMW has given the new i8 a flamboyant look and the design gives it a layered feel to it. It has carbon fibre on the roof and body panels to ensure a lower center of gravity. It has scissor doors that open up and look marvellous.
BMW claims a weight distribution of 50:50 and a total weight of around 1500 kgs which is excellent for a hybrid supercar. This allows the car to do a quick sprint to 100 kmph from standstill in just 4.5 seconds. BMW has restricted the top speed of this beauty to just 250 kmph electronically. This supercar is the first production car in the world to make use of the famous Gorilla Glass - a scratch resistant glass of high durability.
