BMW i8 electric expected launch in India by NOV 2014

In an attempt to re-invent the car as we know it, BMW has built a hybrid supercar for the fuel-starved future called the BMW i8. The model was first seen in the concept form four years ago as the Vision EfficientDynamics and then made its global debut in production-ready avatar at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. For its Indian presentation, the BMW i8 was brought at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show earlier this year. But even before the i8 Concept was presented to the public, its prototype was seen in the Hollywood movie starring Tom Cruise - Mission Impossible 4.

In its journey from concept from to reality, the i8 of course, has seen a lot of changes and has ditched certain radical aspects, which featured on the concept version. Even then, the BMW i8 looks futuristic and a good twenty years ahead of its time. The i8 will also be the first BMW car to feature the all-new laser headlamps.

Once launched in India later this year, the BMW i8 will officially become the company’s most expensive offering in the Indian sub-continent.
