Jaguar Heritage cars can be driven by all

Always fancied trying an E-type, one of the most sought-after classic cars in the world, without the hassle of ownership? Now you can, because Jaguar Heritage has opened up its historic fleet to discerning drivers – and you don't have to own a Jaguar or even order a new one.
Called the Jaguar Heritage Driving Experience, it allows access to seminal models from the company's history, such as the C- and D-type Le Mans racers, XK150, Mk2 saloon and of course various examples of the E-type.
John Edwards, the managing director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations (and now also chairman of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust), stressed that the project is an integral part of the business alongside the company's special vehicles such as the continuation Lightweight E-types, restoration and merchandising. "We want to make money out of it. It's a heritage business – heritage can help us sell new cars."
It is investing heavily, with the opening of a heritage workshop at the old Jaguar factory at Browns Lance and a new facility at Fen End near the company's heartland at Solihull, as well as acquiring an extensive collection of historic Jaguars formerly owned by Dr James Hull. That acquisition brings the company's total of historic cars to 540.
