India has evolved into an advantageous destination for most of the world’s luxury car manufacturers. General Motors India with its Chevrolet brand sells automobiles such as Captiva, Cruze, Beat etc. and is now contemplating to step on the accelerator by bringing in its iconic Cadillac brand to India by 2013.The Cadillac CTS Coupe would be one of the initial to be introduced cars in the Indian Automobile Market.
Cadillac CTS is what Cadillac entitles as an entry-level luxury division car, and is envisaged as the machine that would take on the BMW 3-Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, though dimensionally it is bigger than both. The Cadillac CTS has the most impressive interpretation of Cadillac’s ‘Art & Science’ design language till date, and from each and every angle it advances as a futuristic concept vehicle rather than an existing production model with its metallic exterior with ebony interior. One of the impressive design features of the Cadillac CTS is its angular rear-end with boomerang-shaped spoiler and center-exit exhaust. Other overwhelming artwork elements include the frame-less doors and the nice lower sill extensions.
Engine & Specifications of the Cadillac CTS
The Cadillac CTS coupe will be launched in the of D+ sedan segment of cars. Initially, the CTS will be made available only in a petrol version; later a diesel variant is expected to be rolled out. The Cadillac CTS would be equipped with a 3.6L direct-injected V6 petrol engine and six-speed automatic with Dual Over-Head Camshaft (DOHC) feature. This engine can deliver power of 263bhp at 6400rpm along with peak torque of 343Nm at 3100rpm. The Cadillac CTS can seat 5 individuals comfortably and has a boot space of 385 liters.
Exterior Appearance of the Cadillac CTS
The Cadillac CTS features a pair of Corvette-style buttons that bestows the vehicle a lustrous, cutting presentation when looking down the belt-line. Also, the car comes with a new backside design that makes the Coupe look as if the roof is reaching back and pulling the rear-end inward from the tail lamps by way of the massive C-pillars, giving the roofline an amazingly sharp angle, thus forming a total modern take on the fastback look.
Interior Appearance of the Cadillac CTS
The Cadillac CTS interiors are designed to complete its elegant design. The car has an air conditioner with climate control feature, power windows, remote central locking, remote fuel-filler and boot. The driver’s seat can be electrically adjusted. The five-seater coupe has a music system that is dash integrated, and the car has bucket leather seats and controls on the steering wheel.
Safety Features of the Cadillac CTS
This Cadillac car is loaded with several active and passive safety features. The CTS has 6 airbags, fog lamp, parking sensors and traction control. Anti-lock brake system and electronic brake force distribution feature and 3 rear seat-belts are other key safety features.
