Bajaj RE60 Expected to launch on November 2014

Is this the cheapest car in India? Well, you could say that way but Mr Bajaj begs to differ. He doesnt really call it a car, but a step up the ladder for current 3-wheeler owners and users. Infact, he openly says he is an anti-car guy! The RE60 was designed to make people who use a 3-wheeler climb up the ladder to  a bigger and safer vehicle. On the same lines, it will be sold heavily in countries like Bangladesh were people use Bajaj 3-wheelers for personal use! Here are a few details from our side of the Bajaj RE60.

Get inside and as expected, the RE60 is as basic a four-wheeler can ever get but once you own it, you wont be complaining because we expect Bajaj to price the RE60 very very low - around Rs 1.1 lakh or so for the entry level model. As seen here in the picture, the base model comes with an integrated digital fare meter in the dashboard and like the Tata Nano, the speedometer console sits in the centre with the gear level below it - this is done to liberate space between the front two passengers. The RE60 is designed to be a proper four seater vehicle - two up front and two at the rear!
The Bajaj RE60 is modern India's answer to safe, convenient and economical commercial transport on the road. And to begin with, the idea will be to replace 3-wheelers which are less safe, less comfortable and less on performance too. Bajaj has revealed the production version and intents to start production in the current financial year.

Price will be around the Rs 1.2 lac mark.
