America’s Next Cop Model: Bad-Ass 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit Unveiled

The heavily refreshed 2015 Dodge Charger is a pretty mean-looking sled, but the newly minted cop-car version looks so tough it kinda makes us want to get pulled over just so we can check it out. While the 2015 Charger Pursuit can’t hang with some of the cop cars in Dubai, it’s about as awesome a cruiser as we’ll see on our shores.
With its sinister mug, darkened headlamps framed by LED DRLs, sweet steelies, and scalloped body sides, it also looks frighteningly natural in black and white. Like the standard Charger, the Pursuit is offered with the choice of the Charger’s 292-hp 3.6-liter V-6 or the great-sounding 370-hp Hemi V-8. Unfortunately—or fortunately, depending on which side of the law you usually find yourself on—neither the Charger SRT’s 470-hp 6.4-liter V-8 or the forthcoming 707-hp Hellcat V-8 are on the Pursuit’s options list.

As before, the Hemi-powered cop Charger can be spec’d with all-wheel drive. Other upgrades from standard Charger fare include performance-tuned suspension, load-leveling shocks, and beefed-up brakes. Inside, the steering column features a gooseneck gear shifter that frees up the center console for police-specific controls, a laptop, and other cop stuff.
